Dermal Fillers for an instanteous youthful look

Dermal Fillers offer one of the easiest and quickest ways to make a dramatic, instantaneous improvement in your appearance.

Dermal fillers work by “filling in” facial folds and wrinkles. They do this by replenishing the natural-occurring substances your skin loses as you age. A dermal filler procedure is fast, easy and the results are instantaneous! It’s a simple procedure that will keep you looking refreshed and more youthful.

Here’s what you can expect:

When you arrive for your appointment, you’ll spend some time consulting with our clinician describing the results you desire. He or she will help you determine which Filler is best for you. Since our fillers are made up of natural substances, no pre-allergic testing is necessary. A few minutes before the procedure, the treatment area is numbed with a local anesthetic cream or dental block. The Dermal Filler is then injected under the skin with a series of injections using an ultrafine needle. You will experience little or no discomfort, and no side effects.

The entire treatment takes about 30 minutes. Before you walk out of our office, your wrinkles are gone! Your face will immediately take on a more youthful appearance, and that, of course, will make you happy. When you’re happy, you smile more. And there’s nothing more attractive than a young-looking, smiling face.

Dermal fillers are considered a “lunch hour procedure”, meaning you may resume your normal day immediately. Should any bruising or redness occur at the injection site, it will fade within a few days and may be concealed with makeup foundation in the meantime.

Although there are several Dermal Fillers on the market, we offer Radiesse, Belotero, Juvederm and Bellafill because of their exceptional performance and consistent results. Radiesse, Belotero and Juvederm fillers are biodegradable and fully bio-compatible with human hyaluronic acid, and no pre-allergy testing is required.

  • Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxyapatite spheres reconstituted in an aqueous solution. It injects very easily and creates immediate results. After injection, as the water is absorbed by the body, new collagen synthesis is stimulated around the hydroxyapatite spheres to create a long lasting effect, reportedly up to two years. Radiesse is not suggested for use around the lips. A syringe of Radiesse costs $695. For more information about Radiesse, click here.
  • Belotero is made of hyaluronic acid, the naturally-occurring volumizing and moisturizing component of your skin. It is a relatively new filler (at least in this country) manufactured by Merz Aesthetics. What makes this product different from the older fillers is that it is a softer gel that more easily integrates into facial skin to smooth out the creases and lines of the face. It is unique in the way that it seamlessly integrates with the skin and adapts to facial contours. Clients treated with Belotero have said that they see immediate results with the reduction of wrinkles but that the results are subtle and more natural compared with other fillers. A syringe of Belotero is $495. For more information about Belotero, click here.
  • Juvederm is also made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring hydrator. Juvederm results last anywhere from four months to one year. Juvederm can be used on virtually any area, including the lips. A syringe of Juvederm is $495.
  • Juvederm Voluma with Lidocaine is the newest addition to our dermal filler lineup. Newly released, Juvederm Voluma was created to restore lost facial volume especially in the cheeks, cheekbones and chin. It was developed to be smoother than other hyauronic acid volumnisers, making it easier to inject and resulting in a smooth, natural look and feel that may last up to 18 months. $695 per syringe.
  • Bellafill is considered a “permanent” dermal filler. It is a gel consisting of millions of synthetic microspheres suspended in purified bovine collagen. These microspheres are “non-resorbable,” which means they are not absorbed by the body or metabolized, allowing Bellafilll to last significantly longer than other injectable fillers … up to five years in most cases.  A syringe of Bellafill is $995.

Dermal Fillers are especially effective for filling in the nasolabial folds (those lines that extend between the nose and the mouth) and marionette lines (the lines that run from the corner of the mouth and extend down to the chin area.) They are also a popular choice to fill in “smoker’s lines,” those fine vertical lines that often form above the top lip as we age.

For lip enhancement, dermal fillers are perfect for giving lips more volume, shape and attractiveness. Good candidates for lip augmentation are those who have realistic expectations of the outcome. Dermal Fillers can enhance and improve your natural look, but they’re not designed to create a radical change in your appearance. Perhaps you’d like to enhance the cupid’s bow (mid upper-lip) to give your lips a pouty youthfulness. Or maybe you want to erase those fine lines on the upper lip. Or perhaps you want to add overall volume to thin, aging lips. We invite you to come in for a complimentary consultation to learn how we can make the most of your lips.

Dermal Fillers may also be used on hands. Hands often reveal a woman’s age faster than her face does. As we age, our hands lose firmness and plumpness and begin to look bony and fragile, with vein and joint protrusions and thin crepey skin texture. The dermal fillers restore fullness to the backs of the hands as well as reduce the appearance of veins.  A Dermal Filler Hand Treatment is the perfect solution to regain younger-looking hands. On average, it requires one syringe of dermal filler per hand, with results that last up to one year.

When it comes to dermal fillers, client satisfaction is very much dependent on the experience and skill of the clinician performing the procedure. We are proud to have three such skilled clinicians on our staff who understand both the art and the science of this procedure.  James Porcelli, M.D., Carissa Alinat, ARNP,. and Ernest McDowell, DMD are all experts at gauging the precise amount of filler to use to achieve a natural-looking result. They have given thousands of injections over the years and treat each client with personal care and attention. No matter which of these experts perform your procedure, you can feel assured you in capable, experienced hands

Dermal Fillers are sold by the syringe. Most people only need to purchase one syringe for marionnette lines or nasolabial folds; hands require a syringe for each hand). In treatment areas that require less than a full syringe, unused portions of your syringe purchase will be banked for your future use.
