About 9 out of 10 women will have cellulite in their lifetime. That means your tough workouts and healthy eating habits are fantastic for your fitness and overall wellness but won’t do much to reduce your cellulite. Despite its prevalence, cellulite is one of the hardest conditions to treat because it is not fat and doesn’t respond to a strict diet and workout schedule. LivingYoung Center provides the cutting-edge QWO cellulite reduction treatment to remove moderate to severe cellulite on the buttocks.

QWO Cellulite Reduction: Candidacy
If you are interested in the QWO treatment, we require a quick in-person complimentary consultation before scheduling your appointment to ensure you are a candidate. Ideal candidates are adult women who have moderate to severe cases of cellulite in the buttocks. This product is not currently indicated for men or other parts of the body such as thighs.
We want to avoid treating laxity as opposed to a true cellulite dimple. As the dermis thins and elastin fibers fragment, the skin loses its ability to recoil back like it once did. This causes the skin to sag. This results in a wavy appearance on the skin’s surface that looks similar to cellulite. This is different from true cellulite dimples caused by a thickening of fibrous septae.
To determine if you have a true dimple or skin laxity, you can lift the skin above the indentation. If the dimple goes away, it indicates that you’re dealing with skin laxity and not a true cellulite dimple. You can contact us even if you’re dealing with skin laxity because we can discuss other treatment options. However, the QWO treatment is only meant for patients with true cellulite problems.
QWO Cellulite Reduction: Preparation
Bruising is a common side-effect of QWO cellulite reduction. You are more likely to experience profound bruising if you are taking blood-thinning medications or supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or other “natural” supplements, like fish oil, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and vitamin E. These supplements and medications thin the blood, increasing the risk of bruises. If you are taking any of these medications or supplements, you may want to consider stopping these 2 weeks prior to your treatment, after consulting with your primary care physician.
QWO Cellulite Reduction: Treatment Overview
QWO cellulite reduction is performed as a safe, in-office, outpatient treatment that concludes within 30 minutes. After carefully assessing the treatment area and discussing your goals, our cosmetic providers will curate a personalized treatment plan. They will select the appropriate number of units to ensure optimal results and mark the treatment areas on your skin. Before the treatment begins, each cellulite dimple is marked with a dot or circle.
While you are lying face down on a table, QWO is injected into the fat (subcutaneously) of each circled cellulite dimple. There is no need for a numbing agent. There is a limit of either 6 or 12 dimples per buttock during a treatment, which leads to a maximum of 12 or 24 dimples being treated on the visit. The entire injection procedure should take 10 minutes. After the injections, you need to remain prone for 5 minutes.
QWO Cellulite Reduction: Recovery & Aftercare
After QWO cellulite reduction, you can expect soreness, as if you had a good workout. This will be resolved in a few days. Do not participate in a rigorous exercise involving the bottom half of your body for the first few days. Nodules may be felt, but they will resolve in 7 to 10 days — this is a normal side effect of the treatment. You should also expect mild bruising, usually because of the leakage of small blood vessels near the injection site due to the breakdown of collagen. The post-treatment side effects should dissipate with each session.
QWO Cellulite Reduction: Results & Longevity
QWO requires a series of 3 treatments spaced 3 weeks apart, for a total of 3 visits. After your final visit, we will schedule a two-week follow-up visit for final evaluation and photos. Patients will start seeing results after 10 weeks once the body starts producing new collagen fibers in the treatment areas. Once the fibrous septae that cause skin dimpling begin to relax, one can expect to see visible reductions in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks. The results may last for years after treatment.
