Description
The MIC injection is a vitamin cocktail designed primarily to burn fat and promote weight loss. The MIC gets its name from its three key ingredients: Methionine, Inositol, and Choline. Patients in our Weight Loss Program receive MIC injections as a way to jumpstart the weight loss progress.
LivingYoung also offers a LIPO-C injection that contains other essential amino acids and minerals to heighten the fat-burning and energy-providing effects of this vitamin cocktail. Let’s see how these ingredients work together to promote weight loss.
Methionine is an essential amino acid that is not synthesized in the body but must come from food sources or by supplementation. Its role is to assist in the breakdown of fats in the liver and to lower cholesterol to prevent excess fat buildup in the liver and throughout the circulatory system.
Injecting methionine into the muscles creates high concentrations of this amino acid which has the immediate effect of mobilizing and eliminating abnormal fatty deposits. In addition to its fat-burning benefits, methionine also plays a beneficial role in keeping hair, skin, and nails healthy, as well as improving cardiovascular and muscular functions through its role in the production of creatine.
Good food sources of methionine in the diet include: cheese, eggs, fish, meats, spinach, potatoes, Brazil nuts, and sesame seeds.
Inositol is a B vitamin that serves many biological functions in the body, among them: aiding in fat metabolism, reducing blood cholesterol, and participating in the action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known to control mood and appetite. Inositol combines with choline to produce lecithin, a product that aids in the breakdown of fats such as cholesterol.
Deficiencies of inositol manifest as constipation, high cholesterol, vision problems, and hair loss. Since inositol is not produced in the body, it must come from food sources and is found in nuts, kidney beans, grains, cantaloupes, and oranges. However, it is most effective in its fat-burning role when given as an intramuscular injection.
Choline is an organic, water-soluble compound closely related to B complex vitamins because of similar properties and functions such as metabolism, liver function, and healthy brain development. It is only since 1998 that choline has been recognized by the Institute of Medicine as an “essential” nutrient. The body does make small amounts of it in the liver, but the majority must be obtained from diet or supplementation.
Choline is essential for transporting cholesterol from the liver. Choline works with B12 and folate in a process necessary for DNA synthesis. It is also required to make acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory, muscle movement, and heartbeat regulation.
Dietary sources of choline include peanuts, soybeans, wheat, chicken, fish, and beef, among others. When injected into the muscles as part of the LIPO-C injection, it is effectively absorbed and starts working immediately.
Methionine, inositol, and choline are in all standard MIC injections. The LIPO-C at LivingYoung includes two other ingredients that heighten the benefits: L-carnitine and chromium.
L-Carnitine is one of the superstars in our LIPO-C injection. It is an amino acid necessary to transport and break down fat to generate metabolic energy. That’s a powerful role. If you want to get lean, this is the amino acid you need. It transfers fatty acids to the cell’s mitochondria where they are oxidized to produce energy. It also plays a part in reducing fatigue and suppressing appetite.
L-Carnitine is synthesized in the kidneys from the amino acids lysine and methionine. For the body to produce sufficient amounts it requires a sufficient intake of vitamin C. Most of the body’s L-carnitine is stored in muscle. That might account for the benefits it provides to people who exercise: quicker muscle recovery and reduced muscle soreness, increased oxygen supply to the muscles, and increased stamina.
Not only does L-carnitine increase your aerobic capacity to help you burn more calories, but it also has other health-producing roles. L-carnitine helps slow down the bone loss process, serves as an antioxidant, and improves brain function.
You can help your body produce more L-carnitine by including nuts, seeds, artichokes, kale, collard greens, and Brussels sprouts in your diet.
Chromium, an essential micronutrient, is a mineral required in very small amounts despite the big role it plays in keeping blood sugar in check and improving blood sugar utilization.
As carbohydrates are eaten, they are broken down into sugar and absorbed into the blood. The magnitude of the rise in blood sugar, and the subsequent rise in insulin, is dependent on the type of carbohydrate eaten. Simple carbs that are rapidly digested and quickly released into the bloodstream promote overeating, obesity, insulin resistance, and other metabolic disturbances.
Chromium’s role in keeping blood sugar in check does everything from enhancing weight and fat loss, and decreasing appetite to warding off chronic diseases such as diabetes.
The body requires only a small intake of chromium which can be found in such foods as broccoli, grape juice, meat, and whole-grain products.
The vitamins, minerals, and amino acids in the LIPO-C work synergistically to promote weight loss, burn fat, and boost energy. This is the injection to have if you want to get super-charged.
